Senior Software Engineer
Tech lead for Wizeline's engineering team embedded in Dow Jones's Barron's & MarketWatch (BMW) group, covering full-stack development, AWS edge infrastructure and production support for both properties.
- Lead the migration of Barron's and MarketWatch from Next.js Pages Router to Next.js 16 App Router and Dow Jones's Index Design System; designed and built the AI-guided migration tool (Claude-based agents, skills and guard hooks with phase-gated plans and immutable baselines) the team uses to move pages and components into the new monorepo.
- Architected Barron's AI Stock Screener after inheriting an unrunnable prototype from another team: defined and built its Terraform infrastructure (Aurora MySQL cluster, DynamoDB conversation store, private VPC endpoints to Amazon Bedrock, IAM) inside our multi-account landing zone, and adapted the Python/FastAPI/LangChain multi-agent backend (natural-language-to-SQL over market data, Claude on Bedrock, Langfuse tracing) to run on Barron's platform. #2 contributor on both repos; in coordination with Dow Jones's infrastructure team. Currently in stakeholder evaluation and data-licensing review ahead of launch.
- Grew Wizeline's footprint on the account from a single engineer (me) to 7, soon 9: ran ~30 technical interviews (~6 candidates per hire) and onboarded every Wizeline engineer plus Dow Jones direct hires.
- Built the sprint-metrics tooling that surfaced under-delivery and blockers; the team went from ~80% to 95-102% of planned work delivered, and its reports are now used by Wizeline's delivery manager in client reporting.
- Ran coaching sessions with the client's engineering manager to resolve team-wide performance concerns; act as the technical reference for the client's team lead and Wizeline's delivery manager, unblocking engineers on complex issues.
- Respond to production incidents, including hot-fixing regressions mid-deployment on high-traffic pages.
